Timing Validation of Automotive Software
نویسندگان
چکیده
Embedded hard real-time systems need reliable guarantees for the satisfaction of their timing constraints. During the last years sophisticated analysis tools for timing analysis at the code-level, controllerlevel and networked system-level have been developed. This trend is exemplified by two tools: AbsInt’s timing analyzer aiT, and and Symtavision’s SymTA/S. aiT determines safe upper bounds for the execution times (WCETs) of non-interrupted tasks. SymTA/S computes the worst-case response times (WCRTs) of an entire system from the task WCETs and from information about possible interrupts and their priorities. A seamless integration between both tools provides for a holistic approach to timing validation: starting from a system model, a designer can perform timing budgeting, performance optimization and timing verification, thus covering both the code and the system aspects. However, the precision of the results and the efficiency of the analysis methods are highly dependent on the predictability of the execution platform. Especially on multi-core architectures this aspect becomes of critical importance. This paper describes an industry-strength tool flow for timing validation, and discusses prerequisites at the hardware level for ascertaining high analysis precision.

متن کاملIntegrated Timing Analysis in the Model-Driven Design of Automotive Systems
Automotive electronic systems integrate steadily increasing number of functions. Model-driven development of such systems enables to handle their complexity. With the integration of software-components and their intricate interactions ensuring the non-functional behavior, like timing, becomes a crucial matter. Timing analysis allows the validation of these properties but is mostly only loosely ...

Homogenous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engines hold promise of high fuel efficiency and low emission levels for future green vehicles. But in contrast to gasoline and diesel engines, HCCI engines suffer from lack of having direct means to initiate combustion. A combustion timing controller with robust tracking performance is the key requirement to leverage HCCI application in production ...
متن کاملSimulation and Validation of Component-based Automotive Control Software
The validation of functional and real-time requirements of automotive control software usually needs the electronic control unit and the controlled hardware components. But very often, the electronic control unit and the hardware components are not available for testing the automotive control software in the early development phases. This paper presents a validation process for component-based ...

The classical V-cycle methodology for the design of embedded automotive systems is typically implemented by a sequence of steps, from a functional specification down to the implementation at the programming level with the support of an RTOS. The validation of the design is a complex task that consists of analyzing and verifying by testing both functional and non-functional requirements. An impo...
